FREE Business Cards!

I couldn't find a category to post this in, but I just noticed an offer on my Premium BetterPholio for 100 FREE (love that word) business cards!

Maybe this has been around for awhile, but I just noticed it, and ordered a set.

It says "beta" on the notice, so they must be testing this feature out, and I'm guessing that it only appears on Premium and Deluxe folios (I'm sure we'll get clarification from BP on this).

The notice appears in my Member Center. You can choose from a number of cute titles for yourself, like "Betterphoto Evangelist" or "Betterphoto Addict." LOL I had a hard time choosing among them--and finally settled for the impressive-sounding "Betterphoto Power User."

They also print the URL to your gallery, which is great.

This is a very clever marketing idea and also a really nice service for members! And did I mention it's FREE? ;)

I think in order to get the "free" cards you have to either have a Deluxe Gallery, or have paid to take a BP course. Nothing is free in this world! :-)

I just went back and looked, couldn't find it and thought it was gone! But nope, still there ... click on Member Info in your Member Center and it should pop up.

  Thanks Colleen, found it.
I had just ordered some from vistaprint.com. Very low price. I had made up an order once, never submitted it then I kept getting e-mails from them for free cards. I actually just got 250 cards for 10.00 shipping. Of course by the time you buy all the other stuff they offer cheap, my order was around 60.00. I included a rubber stamp w/ my copyright on it, 50 magnets with my business card on it. also, I designed my business card with a photo on it that I had taken. My info over the photo. an electronic file of my business card for e-mail signature. If I wasn't such a sucker for all the other stuff I coulf of gotten away with 250 cards for 10.00.
I'm not advertising for them, just passing off a good connection if someone wants to make their own with their own photo. I had a friend order them & they did come in very nice.

It would really be cool if they could let you use your own photos. Still, free is good.

It looks like only people with Deluxe sites or better have the offer. Premium members don't seem to have it. Wonder why?

Carolyn, I have it and only have a premium site. I have taken a BP course in the past.

For only $22 for a premium site, plus all the premium sites out there for 2nd place finishers, it would be quite expensive to give out free cards + postage.

It *is* expensive but it's marketing (an investment) as well as a service to us. In marketing, you test things on a small group, then if you get a good response, roll it out to a wider group. (A small group can be thousands.)

So I'm guessing that they're testing it on folks who've taken a course AND have a premium site.

Then, based on the response they get, they'll advertise it as a premium/incentive for folks to either upgrade to a Premium site, take a course, or do both.

Why, Diane? Do they say it's not available for Canadians? If it isn't, then it must not be available for all the other BPrs all over the world! That is too bad. :(

Has anyone received their cards yet? I have now noticed that you order the cards with all the BetterPhoto stuff on it and they send you a PDF file and you print them yourself.

  Hi everyone.

I have purchased and order business cards from vistaprint.com.au. I didn't even do it in conjunction with BP. I get heaps of emails with free stuff, and yes you can create your own cards, with your own photo. My business card looks wonderful. I ordered 250 cards and 50 magnets, now I am being in-undated with free offers, which I will take up soon (not really needed at the moment).

Very happy with my vista cards, and I think they ship world wide.....

Weird, I could have sworn I replied to this yesterday ... must not have gone through. I can't imagine that ordering cards with all the BP stuff on them, then getting a PDF file *to print yourself* will go over really well. Maybe BP discovered it was too expensive for them to print cards for us.

But if I had to print cards myself, I'd just use a cheapo software program and leave off all the BP stuff. :)

I don't know vistaprint, but there are certainly scores of printers that will print business cards with photos on them.
