Photography Question

Add keywords for submitting to stock bank

Hi everyone,
Does any of you heard of a free software that allows you to add the caption and keywords info to an image? A stock image site has told me that I need to use a specific photo software package, as tha data attached via the windows/properties/summary cannot be read in any of the photo software packages.
Thanks a lot,
Julia

  Hi Julia,

The 'free software' that I use is simply Photoshop, the same program I use primarily for post processing. Yes, I paid for Photoshop, but it 'included' the means to add keywords and captions to your files which are then transferred automatically when you upload to a microstock agency. Maybe that is what they meant by 'free'...

Just go to Adobe Bridge (if you have Photoshop CS), then File, then File Info and fill in your keywords.

Most of the microsites will pick up your keywords from this automatically when your file is uploaded.

If you have Photoshop 7, you would choose File>File Info and go from there.

I don't know if Photoshop Elements has this... or if you are using a different Photo Editor, not sure either.

But if you want to get into stock photography in a serious way, you should check out Adobe Photoshop.

To date, I have earned $11,490.76 from less than 280 photos...

Submit Photos to Shutterstock and make $$$!

Thank you very much Carolina for your response. I do have Photoshop Elements, so I will check out if it has that feature. Also, the stock site recommended the Nikon View software, which is free and apparently works for Canon as well..I will definitely keep in mind the Adobe too, thanks again!
