Photography Question

Philip Frederiksen

Start course?

I would like to buy a 4 week course for a start.
What would you recommend me?
I do have a Nikon D70 for about 3 years now and have looked at the D70 course. Is that a good start or should I pick another?

  Hi Philip,
Thanks for your interest in BetterPhoto's courses!

A good question about the D70 course. The best approach would be to check the Course Outline - http://www.betterphoto.com/courseOutline.php?cspID=137. Do the topics look enticing? Or does the class seem to cover subjects in which you already know a lot?

Our camera-specific courses are designed to get you up and running - comfortably - in four short weeks. But if you already are familiar with many of the camera's technical and creative functions, you might want to venture out into other classes. Your camera will work perfectly in any of these classes, which also review many of the basic concepts and controls. For instance, check these course possibilities:

- Composition and Design courses: For four-week courses, say: Composition - The Essentials; or Photo Design: Composition for the WOW Factor ... or you may want a more advanced course.

- Light and Exposure courses: Some excellent 4-week choices: Exposure A to Z; Digital SLR Exposure Techniques; Techniques of Natural Light Photography; and Taking the Mystery out of Flash Photography.

For any class you consider, be sure to check out the outline, FAQ, etc. Also, if you have a really specific question about a class, feel free to email the instructor.

Thanks again, Philip, for your interest, and feel free to follow-up with any further questions!!
Kerry

  Thanks for your time Kerry.

I think I will go for the D70 course. There is so many things I haven't learnt yet. Specially go manually and not use the built in programs :-)

I hope I will manage to get thru, couse I'm not normally english speaking.
I guess you don't have any courses on danish ? :-)

Thanks again. I will look forward to enter this course and hopefully even more of them later on.

Philip

  Hi Philip,
Thanks for the followup, and it sounds like the D70 course will be perfect for you.

Oh, don't worry, since we get students from all over the world. For many of them, English is not their first language. But a tip: In case you read something in class - in lessons, critiques, discussions, etc. - that just doesn't make sense, be sure to ask.

Also, by the way, what you've written here sure looks good!

Have fun in class!!
Kerry
