How to keep camera from shutting off? I use an HP E327 that recently has started shutting off after only 1 or 2 photos. What could be causing this, and how can it be fixed?

HPs are power hungry: I'm guessing that the batteries you are using are getting low on battery or are old, and that you camera is using battery too fast. Alternatively, if you leave the camera on for a few minutes, the camera is by default set to turn off, and you must change the settings.

Are they good new batteries? Did you check the manual about automatic shut-offs? Perhaps you should contact HP and ask them. Like I said, HPs eat batteries way too fast. I usually can't get over 20 pictures out of my Photosmart 635 before it thinks the batteries are dead, and then I have to wait a minute for it to "recharge" a little. Tip: don't buy HP. Think about Olympus, Fuji, also Canon, Sony, Panosonic, and Kodak, etc. HP just isn't that great, and they don't focus on photography like other companies do.

What kind of batteries? Alkalines can be used, but they'll suffer from the high power draw of this type of camera and lose voltage quickly. It sounds like that's your problem. Lithium photo cells would be better, rechargeable NiMH are also better and over time will by far be the least expensive solution.
