I was on a drive through the woods on a wonderfully rainy day when this leaf tumbled onto my car's hood. I had to pull over and make a photo before it blew away. Having the trees reflected was a happy bonus.

Happy 15th of May, and happy Cocktails & Chocolate Countdown time!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the monthly thread that gives us all an opportunity to show off, brag, revel, and hope! It's time to share either that one photo you really, really think is going to garner a medal or that one you really, really WISH would bring home the silver or gold.

My entry this month is "Rainy Day, Yellow Leaf, Blue Car." It had just started raining while I drove through the woods and this leaf just alighted on my car hood. Of course, I had to make an exposure!

I just love seeing everyone's photos every month, and just hanging out with you all. I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone has been shooting.

Just to help everyone along, I'm adding some uploading tips that Chris B. posted last month. I think it helped a lot of people, and it would be convenient to have it right here at the top of the post:

A few helpful notes to newcomers (or any BP newbies too, contributing to Forum Threads with photos.)

1) Sign into BP completely (name + password.)
2) If you have NOT yet entered an image into the contest for the day,you can use the "Photo ID" method to pull a single, pre-existing image from your Gallery, into this thread. (ie, no need for a duplicate upload!) Be sure to go to your Member Center and write down the Photo ID# in question. Then come to this thread, hit Respond, choose "1" from the drop-down of how many images you wish to attach, and on the next screen, populate the "Photo ID" box at the far right. No need to fill in any of the other fields on the screen.
3) If you HAVE already made a contest for the day before you came to this thread, you cannot use the Photo ID method, and you will have to upload a new copy (from your PC) of your "favorite image" in order to include it in this thread. It will result in a "duplicate" image in your Member Center, but you do NOT have to elect to display it in your Gallery. (So if you have the Free Gallery, it doesn't have to count as one of your 30 max. on display.)
4) Many folks title their freshly-uploaded/duplicate copy (for this thread) something like "April Fav" so that in your Member Center, it stands out from the original upload... and add "Original displayed in my Gallery" in the description.
5) If you see a photo in this thread, and want to comment on it directly, first check to see if any older-dated comments are on it--if not, it is likely the person's "duplicate"---as a courtesy, try to find the original in that person's gallery, and leave a comment there, instead---that way, if they want to delete the duplicate a month later for housecleaning, they don't wipe out any comments.
6) Make a record of all your current-month Contest Entries at the end
of each month; on the last day of the month, BP will reset your "Current Entries" page in your Member Center, to make way for your entries in the next month's contest. The record of entries (say, for May's entries) will make it easier to determine your favorite, when
we start this thread next month.

So without further ado, let the fun begin....

These small flowers were the edging along a patio. The skies kept threatening rain with little bursts
of sprinkles off and on. The result was wonderful little droplets on the petals, everywhere I looked!

It will be agony missing out on the early days of C&C while I'm on vacation... but hopefully, much like my past days on-duty at the cathedral have coincided with Finalists announcements, perhaps my trip will provide the same outcome! ;) Here's my fav, from April, shot with the new camera, at that!
