Katrina redux

If there's anybody who wants to help out in the aftermath of Katrina to mitigate it's damage:

Katrina damaged thousands of photos that are/were very important to their owners.
"OPR" – Operation Photo Rescue – is a project whereby photo retouchers and restorers the world over volunteer their services to save precious images for victims of Katrina.

OPR manages the project, receives, scans and registers damaged photos, distributes them to volunteers worldwide, receives the restored/retouched photos, and returns them to their owners.

Here's a news story: http://www.nppa.org/news_and_events/news/2006/02/rescue.html

Here's a blog: http://web.mac.com/fiftyeggs60/iWeb/Site/OPR%20Blog/OPR%20Blog.html

Have fun!

Well I see that Derek is now Justin Shane. Been out of town for a few weeks and havne't had a chance to catch up on the latest. What happened to your surfing images Derek or Justin or what ever you will be later this week?

Also, you told us a while ago that you were Canadian, living in Canada. How then could you vote for Bush?

You just did. I've been through a couple of hurricanes myself in Florida. Thing is they don't have a bunch of lazy monkeys hanging around waiting for the next handout. Now you might say they are just enjoying life, yah on everyones dime, that works hard to keep everything going. When the hurricanes hit Florida, I didn't think "Oh my God where is the President (like he is Superman to the rescue), I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I need shelter, Damm those politicians, they're trying to kill me. Friends of mine didn't have a solid roof for 2 years, because they couldn't afford it and they couldn't afford insurance either. So what did they do? They got some friends together, big tarps from walmart and stapled the thing down and put another layer over that, until they could afford some new shingles. They (3 guys) had to work 1 full time and 2 part time jobs just to get it done, but they did without any help from Clinton. Whats the big dealeo?

Before anyone gets all riled up over Justin's comment - don't bother. He's just making up stuff to try to cause trouble. Nothing that he says he has done, or his friends have done, or "a pro told him" should be believed.

He says he's been through hurricanes in Florida. At different times, he has claimed to live in Hawaii, California, Canada, and other places. He changes his name constantly, and lies so much that he has ZERO credibility.

Don't respond to him, just ignore him.

Who Me?
The truth hurts, thanks for responding and not ignoring. Zero credibility, thats not possible. At least the bank doesn't think so, they just approved me for a VA loan.
