Adobe RGB setting in D200

I am shooting in RAW with A Nikon D200. I have set my camera color space to Adobe RGB, but when I work in PS it does not show the color space a Adobe RGB. PS gives me option to choose Adobe RGB. Is the color space setting not in effect when shooting in RAW?

Your monitor can be set to Adobe RGB as well as your camera. You should also consider a calibration system & software that will create a profile to set your monitor and printer to, so that you have consistancy from monitor to print. Check out Colorvision Spyder2.
Donald, I like your gallery, I am a bit of a waterfall enthusiast myself.

Donald, PS is only giving you the option for Adobe RGB because you apparently do not have your color space in PS set for Adobe RGB. You can change your color settings, but I would just as soon make that choice when I open the file. If you change the color space you won't have as vibrant of colors when you upload something to the internet.

Thanks Carlton for your response. I am addicted to waterfalls. I visited your site as well. I love your photos. I already have the Spyder 2. It works well. I have no problem with my photos printing like what I see on the monitor.

I have only had the D200 for a little over a week. I just noticed that even though I have the camera setting for Adobe RGB it does not show as Adobe RGB in Photo Shop. I have to choose Adobe RGB in Photo Shop. I was just curious why it does this.

Thanks Sharon, that being the case I will leave it as it is. I currently start with Adobe RGB and process the photo. I save that photo for printing. I then change to sRGB, downsize and save this version as a web photo. I assume this is the best way.
