Good photo locations in the Florida Keys
My wife and I are flying to the Forida Keys, specifically Key West. I've never been there before. Anyone have any good suggestions on places and things to photograph in the Keys. I know the sunsets are supposed to be spectacular. Thanks in advance.

Don't forget to shoot (self) portraits 'before, during, and [especially] after' an extended visit to Sloppy Joe's on Key West, Todd.Oh, and if they're still there: the street artists, acrobats, jugglers, and pussycat tamers at Sunset Point. Have fun!

Hi Todd! That is one of my favorite places. In fact I am heding back in May. Sunsets are different every night, so try not to miss any! There are beautiful tropical flowers everywhere. Bahia Honda state park is gorgeous. That is MM 37 if you have the chance to head up route 1. There is the light house which is right near the Hemmingway House and all of his 6 toed cats. Also, there is a butterfly greenhouse (Not sure of the proper term) also toward the atlantic side. Don't forget the token tourist shot of yourselves at the southernmost point. And if you have the chance, stop into Irish Kevins. I can spend an entire day there laughing myself silly. Enjoy your visit to this tiny paradise!

Hello Todd, Just my opinion, but I've been to the keys and find the subject matter easy to exhaust; as far as scenery is concerned. The better bet is to go to Clearwater and/or Tampa. There are more varied subjects to shoot, the water looks the same and the sand is just as white. There are "Keys" there as well. Pete

Thanks for your input Pete. I was somewhat afraid of that due to the fact that they are islands and they aren't that big. I'll have to give the Clearwater area a try next year or later this summer. I honestly almost hate going on vacation. After the 3rd day or so I am ready to go home and get back to my regular grind. My fun comes in flying us to and from our destination. I would rather take 3 or 4 day trips at regular intervals than one big chunk all at one time; but, haven't had a vacation in 2 years and I'm starting to get burned out.

Oh, and W. You've convinced me I need to go to Sloppy Joe's; but, they'll not be any pictures unless they make the front page of the newspaper. I'll give you a report.

No need for a report if you let us know when you will be there, Todd: if they work (!?) we'll be able to see you on Sloppy Joe's webcams: http://www.sloppyjoes.com/sloppycam/LOL!
