Photography Question

Who Me?

Sometimes you have to chuck the mental list

Sometimes you have to chuck the mental list. You might have already set up all the shots in your mind, but that is not reality. God controls the light. You have to go with the flow, shoot on the fly and nail your exposures. Hard yes, difficult-no, time is what heals that area. You have to shoot every day and live photography. The weekend shoot will not do. Espcially since you are the lab these days. You need to buckle down and learn everything there is to know. You definitely need to network, because there is way to much out there to keep your head above water. Shooting in manual is the basis to all great shots. Don't let the camera decide the shutter or the aperature. That would be like relying on PS to make your exposures correct. Alot of the PRO's shoot in L-jpeg or M-jpeg, why? Because there are so close to perfection that they can concentrate on composure (which sells the big ticket) then trying to get lighting right. The ISO are also right on. Look at the big photographers shooting 1600iso, you think it was shot as 400iso. Has nothing to do with the vehicle, its the driver.

Those are some nice images. I never realized the surfing was that nice in Canada.

I'm surprised to see you're shooting a Nikon now. Why the switch from Canon?

Hang loose,

Tell me Derek, what waterproof housing did you put that D1X in to get that first tube shot?

I always play the sucker, sometimes that stick up my but gets a little irritating, yet i'll still play.
you actually made a good point,if it's at my expense,i can afford it.
I agree many posts are repetitive, and maybe there's a lure to say hey stupid, guilty myself, but, maybe an oh yeah, sorry,i had a bad day.
by the way, there is someone here more irritating than yourself.well I guess it could be you.not sure.hopefully not.
games yes,but it seems more of a straight rude, obnoxious.
well. sam

Who Me?
Aquatica water housing. The newer version even comes with a moisture alarm. I've lost a D60 and a 10D to failed water housing units.

I wouldn't go in the water with my canon equipment. Cheaper to risk Nikon. My freind that switched to Canon gave me a sweet deal on his Nikon if I agreed to shoot a enite surf trip of him in Costa Rica. We go down there to get away from the chill. Sometimes we hit Cali too, which is where I got some nice tube shots. The water is freezing, so half an hour is enough for me.

Hey Chris, they have these new inventions called airplanes. They can get you to places, and they stop by BC every once in a while. Better then living in the gutter praying that the water doesn't go over the edge.
