Photography Question

Newbie needs advice on a camera - can you help?

Hi Guys,

I guess you get asked for advice alot - but I would really appreciate any replys.

Bascially I need camera advice...

I am setting up a jewellery company and will need to take some good quality shots.

I have bought a light tent, 3 lighters, daylight bulbs and a dazzler bulb for the front one, acrylic stands and proper display pieces to display my jewellery on - but now I just need the camera...

Most pics will be stock images from my supplier but some items really need to be photographed again.

I'm ashamed to say I currently have a Vivitar Vivicam3760 (which I use once in a blue moon) - so I'm pretty certain I need a new camera :-)

I havent got a massive budget, and I'd probably buy second hand. Only about 10% of the photos need re-doing at the moment and I can always upgrade later when the money situation isnt so tight.

What would you recommend?

keypoints: only need to take pics of jewellery within a tent, good quality images, ability to capture the sheen and lustre, not to expensive

Thank you,
Kelly

On the menu bar go to resources and click on Best Cameras. Answer a few questions and get some recomendations, you probably want something with close-up capabilities.
