Lost Photos Hi all, I'm a little wet behind the ears, so bare with me. I think I may have lost all my photos by accident. I put the wrong folder in my recycle bin and as I went to trash it I noticed the folder, but it was to late. I had already pressed "Yes" to trash. Is there anyway to retrieve those photos. Please tell me yes.

Opps! Sorry about the repeat. Another question I have is how do I get a picture next to my name.

Carolyn, If you only deleted the folder, that is, you sent it to the recycle bin, you should be able to recover the folder. Go to your desktop and double click on the recycle bin icon. Find the folder, right click, and choose restore. Let us know if you were successful.

Carolyn, go to your admin area and click on My Member Info. You'll see there how to select your mini pic. You have to downsize them 75x75 pixels before uploading one or you can use one BP provides.

Thanks John for your reply. I sent it to the recycle bin and I have a bad habit of when I see it full I erase it before I log off. And so when the recycle bin said are you sure you want to delete these items I hit "yes" and noticed that the folder was there and tried to hit alt+ctrl+del, but it was too late. Thanks you Sharon, I tried to make a minipic 75x75 but I can't do it. The computer figures out the other number and makes it 100x75 or 75 x 50, so that my mini pic is cropped wrong. I'm am only 10 so my computer skills arent there yet, sorry. Please help me.

Even emptying the trash dosen't mean that what was in there is gone for good. You'll have to look into a file recovery software to dig up lost files buried in the hard drive. That's how some people have lost jobs. A company that's real big on keeping employees off the internet during work hours will sometimes take their computer, hook it up with file recovery and see what they've been keeping on their computer. Not unheard of for somebody to download certain kinds of photos, delete them later thinking they're gone, then have somebody come check up on them and bring them back up. For the mini pic, you don't have to make it 75x75. But make it square, and make it small. 100x100, 200x200. It's for small files. 150kb or so. And I just saw that you're 10. So 100x100 means pixels if you didn't know. So if you have a way of taking a regular shaped picture, longer on one side, and cutting it to make it square shaped, do that. Then just reduce the overall size of it.

CC, nothing is ever loss until it is written over. Go to your C: drive and see how much space you have left on it. Lets say you have 2gigs left on your hard drive and you fill that with your favorite pictures you made that day, then you delete them. They go to the recycle bin and then you dump them. Now lets say you come home the next day and fill the 2gigs space with new pictures. Now they are gone FOREVER! Its like deleting pictures on a card, they are still there until you cover them up with other photos. Class dismissed

Thanks everyone, Well, I haven't uploaded any more pictures from my camera yet, so they should still be there. Yipee!! How much does file recovery cost and couldn't I just borrow it from someone since I will only use it once? Thank you Sharon, it still got cropped funny. The circle is me looking through a long tube, trying to get the look of me looking through the viewfinder.
