Watermarks

Hi :) I have been working on an online portfolio. At the moment I am placing a watermark on my images (not on the center of photo). I was told that I should put it straight across the photo. I would love to hear any thoughts.

It's totally up to you, and it really depends on why you want a watermark. If you want to "sign" your images so reproductions will be attributed to you, sign your name in small text in the bottom corner of the picture. Some might suggest putting a semi-transparent bar on the bottom of the picture with your name, as well. Now, if you want to make it so nobody can make real use of your image, you can put a watermark going over the middle, but those are really annoying.
