Photography Question

Vliew SLide show option

I've installed a 2nd hard drive on my computer, but now if I d/l my pix there to edit them, I cannot first view the file "as a slide show', which I can when I put them into My Documents/My Pictures/Weddings/Tim & Taryn. It seems that because there isn't a 'My Pictures' folder/icon on the 2nd hard drive, it doesn't give me that option. I've therefore transferred older stuff to the back up hard drive, so that I can work on the pix on the C drive. Any suggestions/ideas as to how to get around it, or do I just live with it, and re-organise. Just curious as to why that option doesn't appear. (it should have a panel on the left which says: Picture Tasks
Get pictures from camera/scanner
View As a slide show
Order pictures online
Print pictures
Copy pictures to CD
The 'K" drive, just gives me
Files and Folders Tasks and
Other Places and
Details
Thanks All,

Robyn, I too installed a second hard drive for backing up photos and other important documents. Rather than run the back-up utility, I actually made a copy of "My Pictures" file on the 2nd drive and named it "My pictures xx-xx-xxxx (date). NowI can run a slide show on either drive.

Thanks John, but how did you make the copy??, did you just right click on "My Pictures", or do I need to look elsewhere?

There is a much easier way to do this.

Open "My Computer" and navigate to the folder where you keep your pictures. If you have several folders, go to the top folder.

If you don't see the "Picture Tasks" on the left sidebar, click the View menu, then click "Customize this Folder". In the top drop-down box, choose "Pictures" or "Photo Album". Then check the box that says "Also apply this to all subfolders". Click OK and you should now see the Picture Tasks on the left.

Tip: if you see your drives and folders on the left instead of the taskbar, click the "Folders" button at the top.
