Hi Zal, When I joined shutterstock they didn't require the passport, but I think it was added later. Shutterstock is a good microstock agency; they have always paid me promptly each month and do not demand that their photographers place images exclusively with them. Only issue is acceptance/rejection of your photos can somewhat seem arbitrary, depends on the particular inspector looking at your photos at the time. There is a forum on shutterstock; I'm not sure if you can post without being a contributor though. I recall some postings when the passport rule came into effect, but I don't know of any problems.
