Photography Question

Yosef

choosing a professional printer (website)

I am an amateur photographer and I have several pictures that I'd like to print, but I don't want to use the traditional online developers because I want something that's more professional and that is printed on higher quality paper. Friends of mine had portraits taken at professional studios and the quality of the photo is obviously better than what I would get from any of the traditional online websites. I'm looking for recommendations for websites that specialize in professional, high-quality photos. Thanks in advance for any and all feedback.

  Yosef,
What traditional online websites have you tried?

I use Mpix.com and they use high-quality Kodak paper. In my opinion, the only way I can get better quality prints than I get from Mpix is to start with a better image. ;-)

I should have clarified my question further -- the photos that I've seen seem to use some sort of matte finish, but I've seen different versions and don't know what they are called. I'm looking for a website that not only uses high-quality paper, but also gives numerous options about the finish. Any furher insight and recommendations are much appreciated.
