using camera and laptop together I have the Canon Digital Rebel and I was wondering if it is possible to use the camera and laptop together while taking photos. Basically what I'm trying to say is, can I be taking photos with the camera hooked-up to my laptop and the photos be immediately sent and saved to my laptop? Do I need special software to do this? I've seen this set-up with "Photos With Santa" and I was wondering if I can do it, and if I need special equipment or Software to do it? I appreciate any help with this! Jeff

I could be wrong, but I think that can be done with the EOS Utilities software supplied with the camera.

Jeff, Try THIS LINK to the Canon Download page for the Digital Rebel. Click on the Drivers/Software link, and look for the "Remote Capture" utility. They have one for Windows and a different one for Mac OS X. I haven't actually used this utility, but I'm pretty sure it does what you are looking for (or comes close). Good luck. Chris A. Vedros
