Just found a cool new website!

It's photocamel.com It has a terrific section on portraits/people, studio lighting, and EVERYTHING else you need. I already learned a bunch more being on it for a few hours last night.
YOu have to register, for free, to see the pictures that are posted in the threads. Jess

W.    Photocamel is indeed an interesting board. Photocamel also has an administrator who when he's got another attack of PMS cuts posts and bans posters just like that. Without (the common decency of providing) any valid reason. No nuthin'!
You may be back here sooner than you think, Jessica.

Hi guys, I'm not leaving, but this site doesn't have a specific area for portraiture or studio lighting, and they have both, and they're seperate.

Tami R. and I have desires to get better at this, and this site has great info, esp reading back through old threads.

Mark, and Debbie, and you too W. have been great at answering questions, and have been dependable. (nd so many more, please don't get offended :) )

I'm sure many of us visit multiple sites to gain as much knowledge as possible, and what I liked, was it was forum based, and broken down into many subgroups, so you could find what you're looking for quickly.

Don't worry, I can't leave! Also, I think our resident pain, is being better behaved lately....hopefully.

The reason I posted this in the first place was specifically to let others know, that there was a good studio forum since we don't have one here at BP (hint, hint!). Posters there also share alot of photos too, and they talk about their set up...very helpful.

Rokcet    W.S. is, I'm afraid, full of you-know-what. He terrorized the photocamel board for weeks, spitting vitriolic comments and generally lowering the level of conversation on photocamel. Intitially he was dealt with on photocamel with far more respect than he/she deserved. Finally, and happily, I'm glad that the moderators there saw fit to ban his butt. I should add that in the year that I've been on photocamel, I only know of two people who have been banned, and all of the moderators there are more polite to the guests than at any other photography forum I've ever visited.

So I say beware of W.S. Observe him. If he gets in a bad mood, this board will suffer as a result.

I love both of these sites! There are pros on there, and here too, and both sites offer specific benefits. I love their seperate forums, individually listed. Benji has some terrific tutorials on the portrait section, which was very helpful, too.

Thanks for your comment. I also like visiting photo.net, dpreview.com for their lighting forum, and prostudiolighting.com Jess

Better behaved ? I haven't had time to misbehave. I've been too busy trying to fine tune the areas of photography that I lack in and it is very time consuming. But anyway, nice to be missed,

Have fun shooting

"Rokcet"...?

That's 'funny'. He can't even come up with his own moniker and feels the need to steal somebody else's to hide behind! Pathetic! LOL!
A clear indication of the mentality behind the handle...

"JD"...?

The admin at the Camel who has the gall to require his 'banning victims' to post blatant lies on competing forums like BetterPhoto.
'Faust' would be a more appropriate handle...

Wonder if the mods here are aware of snakes like that.
