Hey, I don't care whether or not your charge for whatever you do. If you're doing a wedding (or anything else for that matter) and can't/ don't / won't do your absolute best, for whatever reason, regardless of whether or not your're being paid, then in my view, you shouldn't be doing it. Got the picture?

As far as knocking you "off your boat" I honestly don't know what you're referring to because I honstly can't remember responding to any of your other posts. But if you don't want my input, just let me know and I won't respond ever ever again. :>))) [There, that was certainly easy].

  hey estella,
your searching for a pinpoint answer and there isn't one.sometimes only expierence will give you the answers you need.
the only wedding I did as the photographer..i used a tokina 20-35,400 iso film and an accessory flash I tilted slightly up so it would'nt be so harsh.with me I had ,besides a backup body, were 2 minolta lenses.a 35-80 and a 70-210.i never switched to either one of those because I always felt the tokina to be a bit sharper.i'm really not sure if it is,but if I switched lenses would my confidence in the end result have hampered my ability?
so your ability to use the equipment you have and do a good job vs having the RIGHT equipment and not do such a good job would be a more important question.
if I could'nt have used flash I probably would have taken my 50 f1.7 for most of it.
I did the wedding for free.so I really had no worries of being fired or missing THE shot.in a 2hour period I took 240 pictures.
when I saw the 5x7 and 8x10 prints they had made and hung on the wall I could'nt do anything but grin like a little kid.the big screen tv in the background in some of the shots, unavoidable, was thrown completely out of focus.no red eye and not one complaint.my arm hurt for weeks from patting myself on the back.
what if that one lens your searching for takes a dump while your shooting the wedding?well..you're going to have to make something work.you won't be able to stop and tell them your done.
ya know, you may need a bigger boat.one that will hold more confidence and carry a better vision of your goals.one with a large bilge pump you can switch on when you feel your sinking.and make sure there is no compartment for blame.that should be kept in your pocket where I keep mine.
there's a difference between the answer you want and advice someone wants to give.
if you want simple..just go shoot some flowers,it ain't that easy.
time to raise my anchor,sam
