Which camera is best on a budget

Ok..im brand new to digital cameras. I am getting one as a gift and have a $200 limit. (gift cert from radio shack) I have looked at 6 differant ones from there which I like. I will be taking action shots, (i race RC trucks indoors and outdoors) plus pics of a local motorcycle stunt club, local dirt track races, rodeos, etc. Id love to try and take storm/lightning shots if possible. (ive wasted many a roll of 35mm film to get 1 good shot. lol) Does anyone have any experiance with or know what of the following cameras may be best suited for me and my pic taking requirements as far as ease of use, fast shutter for action shots, etc. they are as follows...
1- Kodak easyshare c-643 6.1mp
2- canon powershot A530
3- sony cybershot dscs 600 6.0 mp
4- sony cybershot dscs 500 6.0mp
5- olympus fe 170 6.0 mp
6- vivitar vivicam 8400 8.0 mp

Any help will be greatly apprecieated! Thanks!!

I would go to Staples/Borders etc and look for the consumer reports digital camera buyers guide. they rate the cameras by cost. I dont know any of the listed cameras so I can't comment but I just saw the magazine in the rack at Staples last night. Buy the camera at BHphoto.com

If your on a budget, I would suggest you look used. I am a big fan of the Sx IS series from Canon. In trading a little bit of mp I find you get a far better camera, with the option of wide and tele adapters. I have seen the S1 IS in our local shop regularly selling for $150.

If you have to buy from radio shack, I would suggest the A530. But also try out the camera's. Find what one feels good to you, as you may find another camera easier to hold etc.

Cheers,
Erik

I am a fan of the Canon A series as well. I take great action shots using manual mode with a high shutter speed.

The A530 is one of the best cameras you listed there. I have the 510 and it works great for me.

When using small digital cameras bear in mind higher pixels are not needed as I print off 11x14 sized images and only have 3.2mp. The processor is the same size for all small point and shoot digitals, about the size of your fingernail so you don't need to get into more mps until you make the step to digital slrs.

Although the lighting is a little off here is a sample of an action pic to show you what the Canon can do:
