Using ICC profile from lab

I've loaded the ICC profile I got from the lab. I'm using Adobe Photoshop 7.

Open Image
1. Image – Mode – Assign Profile, SRGB
2. View – Proof Setup – Custom, Change Profile to Lab profile, Intent –Perceptual, OK
Preserve Color Numbers, shows how it would usually print, leave unticked
3. Image – Mode – Convert to Profile, Select Lab Profile

I printed some yesterday and was quite impressed. Just want to double check. Also I was wondering if you could make additional changes after doing the proof.

This is all really new to me. Any help will be appreciated.
