Photography Question

Blue Crane video?

Hi, I'm brand new here and will be up and running with some photos after I receive my camera (it's being shipped now) and at least learn the basics of it. I would love to take the courses here, but will have to settle for books for now.
My question is I wonder if anyone has heard of the "training video" for the Nikon D50 : Blue Crane Nikon D50 Digital Camera Training DVD
I am real interested in ordering this so that I don't get "blown away" and frustrated with all the features on my soon to be camera.
I am a beginner, very beginner, I understand the "basics" but haven't practiced much and seem to have a hard time holding on to the basics while shooting phots. I'm moving up from a Kodak Easyshare DX6490 to the Nikon D50. Thanks!...

PS - I might add here that I also plan on purchasing Jim M.'s book on digital imaging, can't recall the title but it has exercises at the end of each chapter. My goal so far is just to have impressable (is that a word? :) 'artwork' to hang and give as gifts. I believe I have a LONG ways to go.....

Hi Bobbi, I have the Blue Crane video for the D70, and it was a God send, believe me. In 2004, I went from a Canon point and shoot to the D70, with no classes or anything. It was a steep learning curve, and I was so glad my camera store owner gave me the copy. He said he had just gotten them in, and wanted someone to try the DVD out and let him know how it was. All I can say is thank goodness! You will be very happy thatyou have a reference point too, as the manual is difficult to understand if you are new to it. Also, do a search for "magic lighting for the D50" online. I think that's the name of it. There's one for the D70. I wanted to see your gallery, but you only have your cute kitty. You'll have to upload some after you get familiar with the camera.

good luck, and this is a great place to learn. don't be afraid to ask.

Jess

Thank You so much Jess, I'm on my way to EBay to purchase it right now after reading your response. I uploaded 2 more photos, but that will probably be all until I get the camera.

Thanks again, bobbi
