Photography Question

Multiple off-camera flashes

I have a Canon 20D and a Speedlite 580EX. I know I can fire the speedlite remotely with a PC cord but, can I also fire a non-dedicated flash at the same time? I have a Quantaray QTB-7500A that I have used with my older cameras. First of all, is the Quantaray compatable with my 20D, secondly, can I fire them simultaneously? The Quantaray does not have a PC jack. Thanks in advance for your help.

With the 580EX in the camera's hot shoe, the Quantaray can be sync'd to fire remotely with an optical slave trigger, like this one. It must be "digital" compatible so that it is not triggered by the 580EX's E-TTL pre-flash.

Using a combination of E-TTL and non-TTL flashes together is problematic. The 580EX output is going to be determined without regard for the light provided by the non-TTL slaved flash.

Thanks, I will look into a digital slave trigger.
