Photography Question

Jagadeesh Andrew Owens

Tom-ay-to Or To-mah-to?

Just for fun on a dreary Monday morning....

Well, when one describes the type of photography they do, and mentions a "still life", they often pluralize it. What, pray tell, is the correct pluralization of "still life"?? Still Lifes? Still Lives? Things that make you go "Hmmmm....".

Spelled it phonetically as to avoid confusion and mispronunciation, i.e. "monjee" which is, if the truth be known, my strippin' name.

If I was to become a stripper I would have to use something like Moby Dick since I resemble a white whale - a beached one at that!

DON'T DO THAT KERRY! You scared me to death with the "Moby Dick" reference. Thought you were going somewhere else with it....should've known better...

Known better that you wouldn't be vulgar, that is, cause you're a nice guy.

The accepted plurilization of Still Life is Still Lifes.

Those who would feel awkward saying or writing this might refer to them as "still life images",...or "fine examples of still life."

...Now, if we can just figure out why we park on a driveway...but drive on a parkway. (??)

Bob don't get me started, in the USA you call it a trunk, we call it a boot, you call it a glove compartment (who the hell wears gloves to drive) in SA - a cubby-hole, you call it fanny, we call it a backside, you call it a 'tush' I think, we call it a fanny, why are people from Poland called Poles, but people from Holland are not Holes????? shall we continue? LOL - Officially is 1 mongoose, another mongoose!

Shouldn't the plural of mongoose be "mongaggle"?

Robyn, you've got me rolling with "Holes" remark. Someone stopped in my office to see what was up! LOL!! That was great. Tusch is Yiddish, I believe, and I thought you were fluent, with all your platzing...
