Removing an Object Hi, I posted a picture in the discussion part of the forums, but I am wondering how to remove an object in photoshop (blurred trash cans). I only know the VERY basics of photoshop, so if you could let me know in very SIMPLE steps, that would be GREAT! Thank you in advance!!!

Teresa, it's difficult, for me, to try to figure mout where your photo is. If you sign in before entering the forum, you can post the photo with your question. Or, you could upload to your gllery and tell us what the name is. Looking forward to helping if I can. John

It is referred to as "cloning", and is quite easy to do. Simply locate the bandaid in the "tool box" displayed on the left side, then click on it. Next, move the circle to a "texture" or shade similiar to what you are trying to hide. Once you have found one, stop, then press alt. and left click. Next, left click on the image you are trying to hide and begin to "clone" the image. I hope this helps, if you have any further questions feel free ask and hopefully I can help. All the best

Hello Teresa; This is probably NOT the answer you want,,BUT..There are no "Simple" steps to remove an object in Adobe PS; that is if you desire good results that doesn't look "photoshopped." ..and if I may be blunt with no disrespect intended (and I am not only referring to you Teresa)..so many people in this forum want quick fixes with their image editing software, and they want it here from many who do know how to use PS beyond the basics. One can not learn PS or any other high level editing software from the forums; again, at least not with acceptable results unless someone wants to take the time and start a thread that is of book length. This is why tons of books have been written on the subject...few here want to recite or re-type the book..or a technique..It would just take too long.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. Pete, no offense taken at all. It's all in how you word things. =) But I agree with you, I was hoping to get some opinions on either an easier way to do this because even though I haven't had a class on PS, I do have a couple books, but figured maybe someone can actually write it in more simple terms. Luckily, I took many portraits at this sitting, but just the fact that I missed seeing an object in the background, is buggin' me. Guess I was too busy making sure I didn't get people walking, cars going by and such. But the client will be quite pleased with the portraits, but it's just a small detail that's in the back of my mind. Thanks again, everyone. I appreciate it!
