Photoshop will not recognize RAW files I finally got my non-working computer replaced with a new one and am in the process of installing software. I installed PS-CS2 and then went to open a RAW file and received the message:"Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." HUH? I never had trouble opening my RAW files before in PS and all I did was transfer to another computer - the files open in the old computer (the one that hardly works). I tried reinstalling the software thinking that I must have messed up while installing, but this did not resolve the issue. PLEASE! Does anyone know what happened and what I need to do? I tried calling Adobe, but they want $39 for answering any question and the waiting time is up to around 45mins on a toll call. I am sure that this is something simple that I am just being stupid about...so, please, one of you PS experts - what do I do now? THANKS!

This is common. Go to the Adobe website, and download the latest download. Follow the instructions EXACTLY. I mean, EXACTLY. Don't skip a single word. Then, all should work well.

Wow! That was so quick! Joe - thank you for your suggestion! Terry and Master - thank you for your advice also. Joe, you were right on the money - I did the download and it works now. My new computer died almost out of box and they sent me a replacement, but in the process of being totally frustrated I completely forgot about having to do an update to get the converter for my Canon 5D. I can't believe they were going to charge you, I just did it the other day for free. Huh He had me check off and on some boxes and the problem was fixed in under 2minutes (in perfect english thank goodness)
