Close-ups with an old camera

I have a pre-WW2 Zeiss, a wonderful camera, but I can't get very close to anything with it. Any ideas for managing close-ups without physically altering the camera?

You can attach a close-up lens that screws into the camera lens's filter threads. Works best with SLRs, but if the camera is a rangefinder you will have no way to determine proper focus.

If you don't want to ruin a totally beautiful camera, best to let sleeping dogs lie. Don't touch that great film camera except to expose film with it.
