Macro filters for Macro lens?
I have a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 Micro that I use for my macro shots. I've seen the macro filter sets out there, and wonder would they benefit if coupled with the lens or be no help at all. Can anyone advise??

I have a Nikon 4T closeup lens (filter) and I use it on my Nikon 105mm macro sometimes. It helps get a little closer but DOF is very shallow. I can take a couple of comparision shots and post them if you like.

I'll go take a couple of shots so you can compare. I have a some chores I have to do first then I'll take the photos and post them.

Ok, here they are. You really need a focusing rail for this stuff and I don't have one so it's difficult to get the focus right on. With that said, I focused on the stamens so if they're a little soft it's because I couldn't achieve perfect focus with my primitive setup. Macro 1 is with the filter, macro 2 without. HTH

Guess I should have mentioned the little flower is called firewitch and it's about 3/4" diameter.

You're welcome, Andrew! Don't you just love digital??? Twenty years ago I would have had to wait a week for those pics to come back from the lab :o)!
