Teleconverters

Looking for comments pro/con regarding digital camera lens teleconverters. I have a Canon EOS 20D with the Canon
70-200 f/2.8L IS lens. I use this lens primarily for indoor/outdoor sporting events.

Rather than investing in a spendy new longer reach lens, I am considering obtaining a Canon EF 1.4x II Extender instead (want to maintain autofocus capability).

I welcome input regarding this issue to assist me in making the best decision.

Thanks.

  Hi, Kerry
I have a 20D, too, and the same lens. I bought the 2x extender and it works just fine with the autofocus....See the first eagle shot in my gallery....

I bought my 1.4x and its great. I use it with the same lens and used it to shoot AMA motorcycles at Cal Speedway and it was still fast enough to capture the race at 100mph+. You could read the digital speedometer crisp and clear in my photos.
