Today is Worldwide Pinhole Day! Today is Worldwide Pinhole Day! I've never done this type of photography before, but since I read about this on the Internet, I decided to give it a fling. Between Sat. and Sun. I made probably the world's ugliest pinhole body cap and fitted it onto my Nikon FM2. As tiny as the pinhole was my Nikon was still meter without a problem. I loaded it with some Fuji Superia 400 speed film, grabbed my tripod, and shot off two rolls of film. Since I've never tried pinhole photos before, suddenly everything became a photo subject. My boy, the sandbox full of toys, a lonesome toy car on the wood deck, the bare street, my dog sniffing grass, the jasmine in bloom...everything. I never had so much fun just shooting off film. It's reignited my passion for photography all over again, especially with my Nikon FM2. (I also have an N80 and a Pronea, but both have dead batteries and are useless right now. Neither could I have made any pinhole modifications on my Nikon 8700 without killing it.) Now I need to develop the film and see what I got. Even if I don't get anything worthwhile, the amount of fun and excitement this little project generated was worth it all. (Yes, I would be a bit disappointed, but it will only draw me back to work on it more.) We'll soon see what happens. I'll be back to post any worthwhile pics, if any came out decent enough. Bob, shhhh, but I found out about this at APUG.org. I really did have a blast today. I just had to stop by and share with you all. Betterphoto is still my favorite photo community to hang out in. As for Pin HEAD day, well, I think everyday is pinhead day.
