Lens Well, I have narrowed my search on two lenses. One is the Tamron 28-75mm XR DI LD f/2.3 selling for about $375.00, or, the Canon 28--135 IS USM f/3.5 at about $400.00. I like taking photos of land and seascapes. I realize that a wider angle lens might be better, but I do have my 18-55mm kit lens to use if I need to go wider. For those who use either or both lenses, please tell me which you think would be the better lens. I want tack sharpness, good color and clearity. No, I can't afford the "L" series lenses. I am not that good, or have the money for those typs of lenses. I was also looking into a 24-70mm lens by Sigma, but I am not sure if they are good or not. Any comments on these lenses or suggestion would be appreciated very much. I want to keep my spending under $400.00, but want the best landscape lens. Mmahalo and Aloha, Lani

Lani, I do not own either of these particular lenses however if you search this forum (or others) you will find many postive reviews about the Tamron that you mentioned. I see you are shooting digital so have a look at your present work and check the EXIF data to see how often you are shooting at less than 28mm. I have also read that the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX Aspherical DG DF is quite a worthy lens and should fall just inside your price range. Have a look here for some great reviews on all these lenses mentioned:
