Travel in England I'm spending a couple weeks in England (outside London)at the beginning of May and was wondering if anyone had any tips on some good spots to hit for nature/landscape photos(eg coastlines, forests, etc). Thanks. -Chris

Hi Chris; First, take plenty of film. England is a beautiful country. If you are looking for places to shoot spectacular landscapes, may I suggest a side trip to Dover. The white marble cliffs are awesome. I really enjoyed it there. Have a great trip and keep shooting,

Not sure about coast and forest, but from my one visit to England, Stowe Landscape Gardens was lovely (the name "gardens" is a little misleading in this case!) and the ruins at Fountains Abbey have beautiful, extensive grounds. The drive up to York, and Castle Howard's grounds, both have plenty of great subject matter.

I almost forgot. Since you are going to be near London anyway, be sure to visit Buckingham Gardens. Should be beautiful that time of year.

Chris Outside London is a pretty big place, can you be a little more specific ? I spent my first 25 years been born and bred and have a big bias towards northerm England. if you have the time I strongly reccommend the Yorksire Dales and the Lake District where you will encounter God given landscapes (I can almost taste the bracken and the moors). Be warned whereever you go in the countryside there will be lots of mist and cold winds at this time of year, I hope this helps. Ian
