tripods I am a novice looking for a good quality tripod. maybe even two (from reading on the Q&A/forums it seems that a light/small one and a tall/heavy one is good to have on hand to be able to use for different occassions.) I guess I will also have to get a "ball head" and a "pan tilt" head. I have purchased a Sony R1 (its in the mail) and want to get something to complement it. I am not too worried about the price tag but would rather get a good deal (like everyone else!) Just wanted to get a head start on things before the camera gets here. any advice would be much appreciated. many many thanks.

If you look around at recent questions over the last few days, you'll see at least three addressing the same issue(s). If you don't have a well-equipped camera store near you where you can go in look at, handle, set-up, and try-out the equipment you're looking for, then go to http://www.bhphotovideo.com and see what they have available both in quality and price range. I have the Bogen Manfrotto Digi Tripod. It is cheap, travels great, and is stable enough for most of the things that I've tried to do with it. I'd recommend it! Nancy
