Tweak It

Just for fun! Here is an image that is lacking to say the least. What I'd like to see is members use this photo to manipulate, Photoshop it to death or just basic editing to make it better.

You will find a copy of the image in my pbase gallery and all you need to do to play with this photo is right click and copy it to your hard drive. Then when you're done post it here.

Please record the steps you take and the software you use so we can all learn from others. I will post my version later in the discussion.

Remember you must be fully signed into BP with your email address & password for uploads to work.

Looking forward to seeing what you all can do!

I've been wanting to try the old photo/color effect everyone has been doing, and this photo was just perfect for it..Thanks for letting me play Sharon. lol

Wow, those are cool! I like both versions a lot!

Here's my version. What I did was create a new layer and filled it with color then placed the original barn scene on top of the layer with the color. I erased the clouds with the opacity at around 10% to let the color come through. I added some fake sun shining on the barn as well by selecting part of the barn and using levels to lighten the area. Lastly I Buzzed the whole image.

I was hoping to try and imitate something that might be done with AutoFX Tint, Tone and Color but didn't quite make it. It was fun trying though.

One more from me. This is fun. Ajusted hue/saturation, use Craquelure filter, wet media brush for edges. Used eraser brush at about 50% to bring back some color.

Trying my hand at a "color sketch" transformation. (Does not look good on an LCD, but nice on my CRT!)

i am getting seasick.i am one of those who has no photo program skills.and altho amazed at the possibilities.am also humbled.is this where you people get your pictures?not composition, not settings.just change it to your liking?
add this,add lighting, change contrast?
boost color?
so when mr or mrs novice take a picture with your settings their picture will look like yours?
i can't believe that is your thinking.
very,very selfish.
your answer, they need to learn photoshop or whatever.
even a turd floating in a toilet could look like a scrumptous hot dog, where does that leave us?
maybe jeousley?
naugh.
i wish no one to FIX my pictues.
more detail,probably.
but no,sam

Sam, you have a fine gallery.. With some fantastic images.. If you will visit our galleries, you will find images NOT PS'ed to death like some here.. We are simply having some fun.. If you don't like... Don't stop on the thread.. Seems simple enough..
This is a tweak it thread.. Nobody is asking for your negative take on PS..

I'm personally not all into 'filters' and stuff so I just thought I'd play with layer masking and colors. Enjoy!

Just stopped by to say I enjoy seeing what others can do in PS. All of these images are great. Maybe I'll try later.

Sam ~ I think if you would read Sharon's initial post, she invited people to have fun w/the photo and get creative in PS. She didn't ask to be browbeaten with negative comments on PS and those who use is. You have some great images in your gallery and I wouldn't change anything about them. I can aspire to get those kind of images some day, but even those can be 'tweaked' to bring about a different look to them. That is what PS is all about. It is not about pointing and clicking and then getting it right in PS.

My two cents.

Chris

OK, I did one... I went with a subtle appraoch.
1) Rotate CW slightly
2) Adjust levels 21/1.00/243
3) Copy to new layer
4) Adj top layer levels 0/0.66/255
5) Erase center band of top layer, leaving sky and foreground
6) Adj bottom layer levels 0/1.1/255 to brighten midtones
7) Destaurate foreground partially
8) Bump up stauration on main barn a bit
9) Unsharp mask 65/0.6/0

These are all just awesome!!! I love what everyone is doing to my barn!

Hey Sam, we all have off days, and not everyone enjoys Photoshop manipulation. This is just supposed to be something fun.

Well, slightly later, but here's my version of the Sharon's barn. I used Texture Anarchy (Edge Anarchy), Alien Skin Exposure, Magic Wand and Magnetic Lasso for selections, Filters Unlimited 2.0, Digital Film Lab 2.0 and Chromma Photographic Filters.
Not that impressive but as you say, this are my two cents.
