Photography Question

B&H Salesperson

I spoke with two B&H salesmen on two different occassions, each time I had a problem understanding them, they were patient and knowledgeable. Does anyone know a salesperson and telephone extension that might help me?

Howdy Richard. I don't get it: If you couldn't understand them, how do you know they were patient and knowledgeable?
B&H has about a gazillion different departments, photo, darkroom, audio, ad infinitim. Sometimes the folks there tend to talk very quickly which makes them hard to understand, especially with a Brooklyn accent. I suggest that you just keep calling the toll free # until you find someone you can work with.

I've always just ordered from B&H's website, but I knew what I was looking for.

Maybe you could tell us what questions you had, and maybe we could help you.

  Hi Chris

I want to purchase a Canon 100-400 4.5-5.6L IS USM US Lens.

B&H has a lens of mine that will be used for a trade-in. They will call me Monday with its value. I then want to speak to a Canon sales rep. and have that trade-in credited against my new lens. Also, on a forum I belong to a writer said try to get your new lens that was manufacturing Sept. 2005 and not prior, Its better. I believe I would have to discuss this with someone, hope they would be willing to cooperate with me on this. That's why I was asking, I do had difficulty with the previous two sales rep. accent.

  There's always e-mail.
Sometimes the written word is more concise and accurate than that which is spoken by a highly pressured, fast-talking sales rep.
I'm sure that B&H has a Contact link or a Customer Service Dept. which can be accessed.
You can clearly spell out your needs and concerns and prior contact history (nicely), and see if it gets you anywhere.

  Thanks Bob

I might try that, I can spell out what I want and how I want to do it in an e-mail. Its worth a try.

I agree with Bob's suggestion. Especially when negotiating a deal like this, it's a good idea to have the emails as a record of what is communicated, rather than just a phone call.

if youre close, something like this would be better to try in person. If not, good luck!
i know what its like to be on the other end of the phone speaking to someone you cant understand, it can be very frustrating.
