External Portable LCD for D70

The screen on my D70 is just too small. Can anyone recommend a portable external LCD of usable size (say, 4")?

Thanks!

I can't imagine that they would have anything like that. Why do you need a 4 inch screen hanging off of your camera? You don't even shoot using the LCD screen.

Not hanging off my camera, but like the external tv monitors that pros use to review their studio work, except smaller, so I don't have to download the files to my computer to see if I've gotten the focus exactly right, etc.

Ah! I see. I'm not sure if the D70 has the same kind of thing that my 20D has but my camera came with a USB cord that people normally use to transfer their images if they don't have a card reader. The program that came with my canon would actually let me control most of the shooting functions of the camera while teathered by USB to the computer. I had to get a USB extention cord but I can shoot like in a studio set up and I can see the image right away on my computer screen.

I'm not sure if the D70 has something like this but you may check through any software that you might have installed. Also, I'm not sure if you were talking about somethign that's portable but I figure you do. Any checking with this device will probably have to be done after a number of pictures are taken just because it would probably take a lot to set it all up in between shots.

I seem to remember some people talking about small units that would accept flash cards to be used as a moving photo gallery? These may have a USB port on them but I'm not sure. You probably wouldn't be able to shoot RAW/NEF to get it replayed on this though.

Have you tried zooming in on the camera so you could see important parts and check them for focus?

Check this really quickly. There's a comment that's probably more towards what you're thinking and you might be able to contact the person who posted the reply...

Hopefully that will be able to help. If not, check out bhphotovideo.com and use their search window for digital picture frame or portable viewer or something like that.

Still, I think you should be able to use the LCD screen on the camera and zoom in. Or, depending on what you're doing, hopefully you should see that it's in focus but that's just depending on what you're doing as it is hard to tell sometimes.

Hope this helps!
