Finalist ? But for which theme ? Hello guys, I have been going through many photographs today, I came across lot of Finalist's photos, but how do I know for which theme those where submitted and for which monthly contest it was submitted. Website should provide such information so that we could know the theme and when it was submitted ?? Hope I made my query clear, please get back to me. Thanks

It was a finalist in the flower category. When you click on contest, then finalists in the dropdown box, they choose whatever month you want to look at...at the top of that months page is a listing of all the categories, click on the category and it will show you all of that months finalists in that category......:-) Was that the answer? Thanks Bob and Karen. Yes If I navigate with what you have suggested then everything is fine, but if I navigate a gallery based on subjects like Wild life, Flora, Birds etc...there I come across many Winners, Finalists photos. If you/webmaster could modify the websystem to show the details of the contest as a highlight note that would be very useful for us. Suppose assume that a Flower with a honeybee was selected as a winner. If any user who searches based on flowers came across this how will he know whether this photo was awarded for a Macro photography or under Flower photography. There are many things in this website that needs review, I mean the cosmetic work.

I get it now. On the finalist medal,or winner or whatever, just add the word flower or macro or people on the bottom of the medal....don't know how hard or expensive that would be.

On our home page, the finalist and winning photos that are showcased include this information. Is this what you mean? I can see how this would be helpful and will foward the suggestion. I think he means when he's cruising galleries and comes across an award winning photo in someone's gallery that he would like the category info listed on the medal in the gallery. Which, I guess, would mean the category is listed on all medals. Bob

I also agree that "category" info would be a very nice addition to the finalist and winning photos in addition to the medal when browsing the various galleries. Date&Time info is usually listed on the photo or can be easily deciphered from the discussion page. Karen, I am not seeing what you describe. On the Home Page (and the Contest Page), I see a randomly selected image from the group of winning photos (not the finalist) displayed. It has the month and the year but not the category information. I must be missing something... I may have to look again.

Agreed... If you are in a person's gallery, and they have a Finalist (or any other medal), at that point it would be very useful to see what Category, and what Month's Contest, the photo won. (Not talking about if you start out using the Contest Winners links... But rather, viewing any random photographer's gallery, and finding a winner there...)

Hi gang, I should clarify, the home page only hightlights winning images with info below - thanks Nobi :) We'll see if we can get more info posted with the winning medals. Sounds like a good idea, however, I'm not sure if it poses any technical challenges. I'll keep you posted - I'm talking to Jim about it now. Karen
