Charging batteries in Japan

I am soon going on a trip to Japan where I plan to do lots of photography with my Olympus E-volt 300 camera. Will I be able to safely charge the camera battery with the charger that I purchased with thE camera here in the United States? I know the electrical systems are different between the two countries and am concerned about damaging the battery, not to mention the camera. Thanks in advance for everyones help.

You should get a travel adaptor kit from Office Depot or a similar store. These usually have a voltage regulator and several outlet adaptors to match the systems used in different countries.
