Did you bounce the fill flash off the ceiling? And if you did, maybe you could still use a diffuser on your flash.

Thanks Kristina - that seems logical - was using built in flash - but will give other a go. Thanks for input.

NOT HAVE BABY IN A BEAM OF SUNLIGHT WITH DAD NOT IN SUNLIGHT. OR PLACE A FLASH TO THE LEFT OF BABY SO LIGHT GOES TO DAD BUT DOSEN'T MAKE BABY FACE WAY OVER. CORRECT IT, LOOKS TOO BRIGHT FOR BURNING IN WITH PHOTOSHOP. YOU MIGHT GET IT BETTER LOOKING WITH LEVLES AND SOME LAYERS SET TO MULTIPLY WITH LOW OPACITY. ERASING ALL BUT THE BABY IN THE LAYER.

Hi Tara; The simple answer is as Gregory suggested..balance the light between baby and the adult. A flash will work, although to many, it is not a complimentary way to light people. Basically, the light should fall evenly on your subjects...That is only a basic rule..and in photography, many rules are broken with spectacular results. All the Best Pete
