Hey Denis: Some of the best backgrounds I've gotten were used drop cloths that came from house painters. Depends on what you're looking for. Deny's (no, not the restaurant) makes backgrounds too. And, you can also get muslin and/or canvas from a number of theatrical supply sources to make your own and probably save some bucks. Take it light. Mark

Mark, Thanks for the ideas. Problem is, I am in Canada, in a rural area. Not much here to chose from so I have to go on line to order, or order something that I have not seen from one of the local camera stores. Not many choices. I don't know any house painters but sounds like it may be worth looking into, Denise

Wellllllllll, check the telephone book for house painters. And, I think you'll find that all the backdrop manufacturers will send you sample swatches of their fabrics, color patterns, etc. Hey, if you get enough color swatches, you could stitch together your own backdrop !!! Kinda like a quilted backdrop. (ok, bad idea). Still, if you look online and see something you like, drop them an e-mail and they'll send you samples for you to take a look at. Also Denise, consider making your own backdrops out of either muslin or canvas. It's really not too difficult, you save a ton of money, and it's an original work of art (or Denise)
