Are babies afraid of Strobe lights?

Hello,

What has your experience been with using strobe lights for baby photography? Do the strobes freak them out? If so how do you get a fast enough shutter speed using the modeling lights to capture all the wiggling that they do?

Thanks for any tips that you don't mind to share!

Michelle

Canadian and french babies yes, U.S. babies no. But the way things seem to be going, won't be long before that changes.

Nicole Kessel   Gregory has an eccentric sense of humor, Michelle! :)

I have only photographed my own son with strobes from the time he was born and I guess it all just depends on his mood. He used to be fascinated by my umbrellas so I always had to steer his attention away so he wasn't looking at them when they flashed. Overall, they didn't really bother him. Can't say how other babies may do.

Nope, I don't have a problem with them at all.
