Getting the yellow out of Interior Room Photos

Hi, I am an amateur photographer but consider my photos to be very good. I am using an 8mp digital camera but the photos of my daughter-to-be's nursery have not been successful. It is a decent sized room with a large window with sheers and a beautiful chandelier in the center of the room. To see the room in person, it is almost dreamy. I cannot, however, capture this effect. In person, the chandelier lights are very clear. When photographed, I get a very yellow light and the ceiling and walls have a yellow tint too. The wall and ceiling are completely white in reality. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to photograph this room without the yellow tones?

The light from the tungsten bulbs is more yellow than sunlight. Your digital camera should have a white balance setting to adjust for this. Set the white balance for Tungsten (also called incandescent), or set a Custom White Balance when under that lighting.
