Star Filter Action

I would like to know if anyone has come across a PS action that simulates the traditional star filter film photographers use? I asked at a camera shop if they made one for digital cameras and was told that is usally done post production in PS. If anyone knows of one, I would be so appreciative!

Thanks,
da

I found a store on ebay that sells what looks like any filter for digital cameras. However, what is available depends on your type of camera. Here is the link for a particular star filter:

They have a lot of information regarding what filters and adapters work with each brand of camera.

I work a lot in Photoshop, but I'm no expert. I'll have to play around and see if I can find the right filter. Hope this will at least get you started.

As far as I know there is no digital filter to create star effects. I'm sure filters you add on to lenses will have the same effect with digital as with film cameras.

test test   You can achieve a starburst effect with a small aperture (like f-22) and a bright pin-point light source or reflection.
(This may not be possible with all digital cameras though.)

Oh, I just realized that it's not an action. It's a tutorial. I hope that's still helpful to you.
