How To Hook Up A LapTop with A Camera??

I have seen several great photographers link a direct link from the laptop to the camera.... OK, how are they doing this and how can I do that?? (What I am saying is for studio work, while you take a shot you can imediately see it on the laptop)

Thanks for any help!!

Melissa

  Melissa,
go to the nearest electronics store (actually your 20D should have come with a "fire wire")
and it ataches from the camera to the laptop.
now to do this with a tv: it can still be done just use you video cable - again one end goes to camera the other to tv(video inputs)
now to get real timeso you can get every little move- you need a "eye" cable that fits over the eye pice on your camera.
I do hope this helps,
Debby

  Melissa,
yes, radio shack should have it.
but it should be in with your boxed camera-looks like the cord to a card reader.
the eye piece that fits over the camera eye piece is a pretty neat piece of equiptment and every bit as expensive and delicate.
however- I got to use then with a company called CPI(a Sears division)
and you could set your shot on your laptop in "real time" and see all movement up to capture.
I hear you drooling-me too-I want one so bad!!!
trying to find out where they got it-so I can post it so you'll see it.

Debbie, I think that I found the cord but, it states the cord is to connect to the computer but how does it show the images on the screen? Do you need a software program for that? Also is it not writing to the card it is writing directly to the computer/?

Thanks
