  full frame could also mean a digital SLR that has a sensor which is the same size as a frame of 35mm film frame. it depends on what you're talking about.

  I think Kerry's description is most accurate.
"Full frame" to me, has always been the act of filling the frame with the subject,...with little or nothing in the foreground or background to distract the viewer from the primary point of interest.
