Photography Question

Jennifer S

Desperately need help choosing lighting!

I really want to start thinking about buying some lighting. I dont want to spend a fortune on it, but I want something good. Good yet affordable! I don't know where to start. I have looked at alien bees, but it seems so expensive, and their less expensive kits don't have very much in them. I want to do portrait photography, so the lighting I need is obviously for indoor portraits. What can you suggest? Or if there are other portrait photographers responding, what do you use?! Thanks so much for your response!

There are a few good places to shop online such as www.amvona.com. My first lighting equipment was the beginner kit by Britek which I bought online from Steve Kaeser. It's affordable and comes with 2 strobes with 32 inch umbrellas, one softbox, a background stand, a boom stand, a fill flash, a 9x9 muslin and a few small accesories.
