e-bay question

I'm confused (what's new?). I want to sell something on e-bay...and reading the instruction on e-bay...it says I need to have an outside image host where I send my picture to ebay from. Can I do that through my website here?

  Linda,
I am not sure what you are reading?
I list on ebay and have a store there,
you can see the link on my gallery.
I just upload from my desk top, or lap top.
I do keep all ebay pics. in a seperate file as they need to be smaller to be used.
I do hope this helps,
debby

Thanks Debby! I guess you are right...I think that if you don't use an outside host, however...you have to pay for more than one photo. I posted on the "New to ebay discussion board"...and this is the reply I got:

You can still upload them to eBay's photo host. The problem is they compress the heck outta the pictures and can really distort nice pictures.

With eBay, you have to pay for anything over one picture, so I much prefer outside hosting.

Linda, I was responding on another thread about "hot linking" a photo from this site. It turned out that I think he is also thinking of the same thing as you... because he mentioned Ebay and another site.

Unless Betterphoto can provide the direct link (URL) to the image file, it does not work well with Ebay. On the free gallery and premium gallery, the direct link to the image file is not available. Because it can violate the copyright issues. Most likely, the same for the Deluxe web site.

If you have your own Home Page with your ISP or any web server (free or fee based), you can upload your images to it. Tnen you have free access to your images. That way, you can display them on Ebay from there.

If you do not have a Home Page, you can create a free one at web site like www.geocities.com, or a similar site.

Joan Bellinger   I use my Digital Rebel XT for my ebay selling photos. I have to make the files smaller to allow per ebay, but the photos of things like cell phones and PDAs always come out great. Just watch your background when you're taking the product photos. Solid, dark colors work well.
