How to I change the flash of my SPV DC-8390 camera

How to I change the flash of my SPV DC-8390 camera? It makes images far too bright. I cant seem to alter it. Even the exposure settings doesnt seem to change it. Help.

I've never heard of that camera, so I did a search. Is that a cellphone camera?

No it;s a proper palm sided digital cmarea. I did get the letters round the wrong way though! The make is actually SVP (stands for silicon valley peripherals)

Okay, I found it. This is a fairly basic camera, you don't have many controls to work with.

The specs say that the effective range of the flash is 1.2 to 2 meters. That's a very narrow range. Any pictures taken closer than 1.2m will likely be overexposed.

My next suggestion would be to adjust the Exposure Compensation to -1 or -2, but you may have tried that already.

Another option would be to try diffusing the flash by taping some wax paper or parchment over it. This might help.

Good luck.

Cheers!
