How to shoot a bike race?

What are the best setting on my D70 to shoot a bike race? What is the best flash card for this?

I dont think the flash card will really matter in this case. Just have one that has plenty of room on it, I like my 512 alot. And as far as the best settings, I guess I would need to know what your intentions are.. do you want to stop action completely, or blur the background? Are you wanting to use panning? The D70 has a action mode you can use on it, or else you can use the manual settings.. let us know what you want your results to be, and we can help you better!

Thank you for your response. I would like to do both, stop the action completely and blur the background. I'm not sure what panning is but it sounds cool so how do I pan? I prefer manual settings over the action settings. What format would work best for this race, fine, raw? It will be outside and will probably be sunny. While I have you I would like to ask one more question. I have seen a few DVDs on the D70, are they worth the money? You can see a lot of cycling photos on this website, www.cylcingnews.com. Thank you for all your help.
