Music copyrights on photo CD's

I enjoy burning slide show CD's and DVD's with my digital images and attaching music files. Several friends have asked to "purchase" these from me. Does anyone understand copyright laws on music? Most specifically, I am assuming it is not legal for me to sell these using someone else's music. Does anyone have any insight?

No, it is not legal for you to do so. However, after reading discussions among videographers about this subject, I have learned that the music industry doesn't even want to fool with licensing music for such videos. The amount is so insignificant that the cost of the paperwork to do so outweighs the income produced.
