Photography Question

Mary J. Gorton

Picture file size

I usually have my photo files on Normal Jpeg size on my D70. Is that an adequate size for quality pictures blown up to 8x10's? Should I go to "Fine"? If I'm submitting photos to publishers, do I need the quality of RAW format???

Thanks, Mary

Fine is best - Is there a Tiff setting on the D70? If so, that's the one you need. Is there a reason you are shooting in Normal, apart from number of images on a card?
RAW converted to Tiff will do, but remember that images for print need to be 300 dpi and CMYK.
The max file size is 3000 x 2000 pixels which, when divided by 300dpi is roughly 9"x7"
